Todd A. Thiede


   Todd A. Thiede, 69, of Burnett, was called home on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023.    Todd was born on February 17, 1954, in Beaver Dam, to Earl and Adeline Thiede. He graduated from Horicon High School in 1972.   Todd was united in marriage to Lynn Schraufnagel on October 6, 1979, at Zion Lutheran Church, Burnett.    Todd retired with 30 years of service with John Deere Horicon Works. After retirement, he spent his days mowing lawn for Horicon Hills Golf Course. He also was very devoted to the Town of Burnett, where he served as Town Supervisor among other responsibilities through the years. Todd was also an active member of Zion Lutheran Church, Burnett, where he served on the Board of Stewardship for several years.    Todd's greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He made it a point to attend as many activities that the grandchildren were involved in. Todd was an avid outdoorsman all his life; from trapping muskrats, to fishing sturgeon, to his annual role as "Camp Woodsplitter" at deer camp. Todd's other loves in life included golf, bowling, chocolate and ice cold Pepsi. Todd and Lynn spent most of their free time enjoying and working on their yard and flower gardens. They had many trees to clean up after in the fall, including apple trees with which Todd would make his famous apple pies. There was never a shortage of projects at the Thiede Ranch for Todd to work on.   Todd is survived by his wife of 44 years, Lynn; two children, Tyler (Patsy) Thiede of Mayville and Caley (Nick) Visser of Waupun; grandchildren, Tanner, Carsyn, and Conner Thiede of Mayville, Grace, Griffin, and Hattie Visser of Waupun. He is further survived by his sister, Lori Spindler of Beaver Dam; sisters-in-law, Vicky (Steve) Vande Zande of Tuscon, AZ, Lois (Dan) Buchta of Mayville, Carol Schraufnagel of Knowles, Tammie Schraufnagel of Mayville; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.    Todd was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Adeline Thiede; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Florence and Victor Schraufnagel; brothers-in-law, Leon, Glenn, and Lyle Schraufnagel; nephews, Brett Schraufnagel, Dane Buchta, and Roger Stanek; niece, Kim Spindler.   A memorial gathering will be held at Zion Lutheran Church in Burnett on Monday, Nov. 6, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. Rev. Norma G. Gerth

Norma G. Gerth


   Norma G. Gerth, 91, of Horicon, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023, at Marvin’s Manor in Horicon.    Norma was born to Erhard and Gertrude (Koepsell) Zimmerman on July 9, 1932, in Mayville. Norma attended school in Mayville.   She was united in marriage to Horst Gerth on July 14, 1951, at the River Church in Theresa.   Norma was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Browns Corner.    Together with her husband, Norma farmed all her life. She loved gardening and raising her nine children. Norma’s family was very dear to her, and she always looked forward to their visits. She was a great storyteller and will always be remembered for her elaborate stories.    Norma is survived by her children, Carl (Gail) Gerth of Iron Ridge, Dennis (April) Gerth of Iron Ridge, Roland Gerth of Horicon, Chris (David) Schumacher of Fox Lake, Ernie (Phyllis ) Gerth of Horicon, Wayne (Sherry) Gerth of Iron Ridge, Faith (Bill) Stroede of Mayville, and Monica (Dave) Roskopf of Iron Ridge; 21 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; siblings, Norbert (Carla) Zimmerman of Mayville and Carolyn (Ron) Krentz of Hartford. Norma is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.    Norma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Horst, in 2016; daughter, Linda, in 2020; and sisters, Lorraine and LaVerne.    Funeral services for Norma will take place on Friday, Oct. 27, at 12 p.m. at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Browns Corner with Rev. Allen Behnke officiating. A visitation for Norma will take place at church on Friday, Oct. 27, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 p.m. Interment will follow the service at St. John’s Cemetery.   The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Marvin’s Manor for the wonderful care they provided to Norma in the two years she lived there.    Memorials in honor of Norma may be directed to St. John’s Ev. James J. Bauer

James J. Bauer


   James J. Bauer, 75, of Lomira, passed away on Tues­day, Oct. 17, 2023, at Froedtert Hos­pi­tal in Mil­wau­kee.   James was born on July 28, 1948, in Fond du Lac to Ken­neth and Alice (Krapfl) Bauer.   He grad­u­ated from Mayville High School in 1966.   On Au­gust 4, 1973, James was united in mar­riage to Renee Crist at St. An­drew’s Catholic Church in LeRoy.   James was a mem­ber of St. An­drew’s and of the Catholic Knights.    James proudly served his coun­try in the United States Air Force and was sta­tioned in Ger­many. He was a mem­ber of the Lomira Amer­i­can Le­gion Post #347. James worked for many years in the Mil­wau­kee area as a mason. James was a hard worker and was al­ways will­ing to lend a hand.   James was an avid hunter of varmint busters. He en­joyed hunt­ing and fish­ing and was a mem­ber of the Mayville Gun Club and Hori­con Marsh Bow­man Club. He had a pas­sion for mo­tor­cy­cles and loved going for rides.    James put his fam­ily first and would do any­thing for them. He lived for his grand­kids and was so in­cred­i­bly proud of them.    James is sur­vived by his wife, Renee; chil­dren, Stacey (Brad) Bauer, Jason “Goobs" (Michelle) Bauer, Ryan (Tracy) Bauer, Richard (Renee) Bauer, and Stephanie (Erik) Gassner; five grand­chil­dren, Jacob, Dylan, Vance, Kennedi, and Hay­den; sib­lings, Kath­leen “Kitty” (Steve) Klein, Diane (Mike) Vollmer, Kris (John) But­zlaff, Dou­glas “Duff” (Eliz­a­beth) Bauer, Heidi (Ross) Re­ber­nick, Mark Bauer, and Gre­gory (Laura) Bauer. James is fur­ther sur­vived by nieces, nephews, other rel­a­tives, and many friends.    James was pre­ceded in death by his par­ents; sis­ter, Debra; and two nephews, Tony and Greg Vollmer.    A Mass of Chris­t­ian Bur­ial for James took place on Wednes­day, Oct. 25, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at St. An­drew’s Catholic Church in LeRoy with Rev. Fr. Joe Do­minic and Rev. Fr. Tom Bier­sack pre­sid­ing. Gladys E. Mildbrandt


   Gladys E. Mildbrandt, 97, of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct. 13, 2023, at the Christian Home in Waupun.    Gladys was born on March 20, 1926, to Oscar and Lucy (Schellpfeffer) Puls in the Town of Hubbard.   Gladys was a graduate of Horicon High School.   On January 18, 1947, she was united in marriage to Warren Mildbrandt at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville, where she was also a faithful member.    Gladys was creative and artistic. She enjoyed spending time sewing, as well as gardening. She also looked forward to travelling with Warren on bus trips. Gladys treasured the time she was able to spend with her family and will be greatly missed.    Gladys is survived by her daughter, Diane (Yogin) Mehta; daughter-in-law, Sue Mildbrandt; four grandchildren, Chad (Jennifer) Mildbrandt, Kevin (Martha) Mildbrandt, Kristi (Keith) Martin, and Christopher Mehta; her nine great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; brother, Wilbert (Ardis) Puls; sister, Janice Fischer; and one sister-in-law, Norma Puls. Gladys is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.    Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Warren; two sons, Dennis and Dale; and two brothers, Kenny and Harvey.    Funeral services for Gladys will be held on Sunday, Oct. 22, at 2 p.m. at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville with Rev. Traci Mass officiating. Barbara A. Wolc


   Barbara A. Wolc, 82, of Mayville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2023.    Barbara was born the daughter of Lawrence and Elda (Seering) Leibenow on June 3, 1941, in Beaver Dam.   She was united in marriage to Richard Frank Wolc on April 27, 1963, at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville where Barbara was also a faithful, lifelong member.   Barbara was a graduate of Mayville High School. She had a love for helping people and worked at various places in Mayville including Purity Cheese, Old Fashioned Cheese, and later retired from Piggly Wiggly.   Barbara enjoyed trapshooting, bowling, snowmobiling, and taking motorcycle trips with her husband and other family members and friends. She always had a kind word for others and treasured the time she spent with her family.    Barbara will be missed by her husband, Frank; children, Tamra Wolc, Kimberly (Dr. William) Haraden, and Troy Wolc; grandchildren, Becky, Ashley, Michelle, Brandon, Jayce, and Alexana; great-grandchildren, Rylan, Aleigha, Alana, Landon, Makoto, Korbin, Xavien, Raiden, Iana, and Brielle; her siblings, Larry (Vicki) Leibenow, Karen Leibenow, Patricia Kutz, and Kenny (Malea) Leibenow. Barbara is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.    Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; son, Scott; daughter, Lisa; son-in-law, Senator Rick Gudex; and brother, Rick.   A graveside memorial service for Barbara will take place on Saturday, Oct. 21, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Cemetery in Mayville with Rev. Karen M. Ondrejka


   Karen M. Ondrejka, 84, of Mayville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2023, at Prairie Ridge Assisted Living in Waupun.    Karen was born on December 15, 1938, to Ruben and Adeline (Riley) Kohli.   She was a Mayville High School graduate and lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mayville.   Karen was united in marriage to George Ondrejka on October 17, 1959, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.   Karen worked for many years in the office at MEC and later retired from there.    Many wonderful family memories were made spending time together at their lake home on Beaver Dam Lake. There they enjoyed fishing, playing cribbage, and just relaxing and being together. Karen could often be found passing time listening to music, such as polkas, or reading. Most of all she loved doing word search books. Karen could work on these for hours and hours.    Karen is survived by her children, Brian Ondrejka (special friend Belinda) and Lisa (Brian) Schultz; grandchildren, Brent (Brittany) Schultz and Kyle Schultz (special friend Brandie); three great-grandchildren, Parker, Tyson, and Kylie Schultz; and two sisters-in-law, Alice Boerst and Mary Ondrejka. Karen will be further missed by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.   Karen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George; her brother, Norman (Lucy) Kohli; and her mother and father-in-law.    In honoring Karen’s wishes, a private family burial will take place.    The family would like to thank the staff at Prairie Ridge Assisted Living in Waupun, as well as Generations Hospice.    Anita Marie Froem­ming, 93, of Hori­con, passed away on Sun­day, Oct. 8, 2023, at Hill­side Manor in Beaver Dam.    Anita was born the daugh­ter of Her­man and Regina (Beisbier) Ruh­land on June 22, 1930, in the Town of LeRoy.   She was united in mar­riage to Roland Froem­ming at St. An­drew’s Catholic Church in LeRoy on De­cem­ber 30, 1950.   Anita was a faith­ful mem­ber of Sa­cred Heart Parish in Hori­con.   Anita was very nur­tur­ing and kind by na­ture and was known as the neigh­bor­hood grandma. She en­joyed cook­ing and bak­ing de­li­cious treats for her fam­ily and friends. The fam­ily al­ways gath­ered at her house for the hol­i­days.    Anita will be re­mem­bered by her chil­dren, Mar­lene (David) Lentz of Juneau, Rev. David (Kathy) Froem­ming of Lan­caster, and Jan­ice (Dan) Roethle of Hori­con; her grand­chil­dren, Caitlin (Brad) En­gel­mann, Brian (Na­talie) Froem­ming, Teresa (Chris) Sawyer; five great-grand­chil­dren, Alex, Zach­ery, Luca, Em­mett, and Howard; her sis­ter, LaV­er­nia Ruh­land of Juneau; and good friend, Jan­ice Smith. Florence C. “Flo” Glamann


  Florence C. “Flo” Glamann (Mueller), 98, of Mayville was called home to be with the Lord on October 1, 2023, at Crossroads Care Center in Mayville surrounded by her loving family.   Flo was born on October 4, 1924, in Iron Ridge to Herman and Elsie Mueller (Wolters).   On March 21, 1942, she was united in marriage to Vernon C. Glamann at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Iron Ridge.   Flo retired from Tab Products in Mayville.   She enjoyed baking and sharing her treats with everyone. Flo was an avid Sheepshead player and spent many evenings at card parties with friends. Most of all, she loved spending time with family.    Those Flo leaves behind to cherish her memory include her daughter, Sharon Wild of Mayville; daughter-in-law, Suzanne Glamann of Lake Wales, FL; three grandchildren, Tricia Wild of Mayville, John (Kathie) Wild of Mayville, and Faith Glamann of Lake Wales, FL; two great-grandchildren, Landen Wild and Abby Glamann; and brother-in-law, Marvin Glamann of West Bend.
