In 2017 the Dodge County Pionier published an article about a Mayville native trying save a three year old boy in Uganda who needed heart surgery.Kayla Billington, a 2008 graduate of Mayville High School, met Patrick on one of her trips to Uganda where she was volunteering as a nurse. The two quickly built an inseparable bond.
