Ger­ald Mar­vin Schae­fer, age 70, of Mayville,  passed away on Mon­day, Sep­tem­ber 11, 2023, at Hope Nurs­ing Home in Lomira.    Ger­ald was born the son of Mil­ton and Vi­o­let (Nagel) Schae­fer on March 25, 1953, in the Town of Hus­tis­ford. He grad­u­ated from Mayville High School in 1971. He was united in mar­riage to Loris Finke on Sep­tem­ber 6, 1980, at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville.    Ger­ald was em­ployed at Cres­cent Garage, Mayville Metal, and Cen­tro. Be­fore re­tir­ing, he worked at Lee Pre­ci­sion in Hart­ford. He loved camp­ing, going to stock car races, and spend­ing time with his dog, Blinky.   Ger­ald is sur­vived by his wife, Loris; brother, James Schae­fer; sis­ter-in-law, Joan Schae­fer; step­-brother, Jim Schae­fer; aunts, Car­olyn and Lor­raine Nagel; in-laws, Mar­i­lyn Finke, Betty Miller, Emily (Roy) Rass­mann, Judi (Ron) Bas­t­ian, Bonita (Wally) Za­s­trow, Leon (Marge) Finke, Roland Finke, Don (Donna) Finke. Smith, 69, of Beaver Dam, died sud­denly at her home in Beaver Dam on Mon­day, Sept. 11, 2023.   San­dra Louise was born on De­cem­ber 18, 1953, in West Bend to the late Hel­muth and Gladys (Zip­perer) Lu­b­itz and was raised by her uncle and aunt, Rus­sell and Erna Neu­man.   San­dra grad­u­ated high school in 1972 in West Bend.   On Sep­tem­ber 23, 1978, she was united in mar­riage with David Gor­don at St. Malachy Catholic Church in Hori­con.   San­dra en­joyed going to flea mar­kets and craft shows.    William H. Grams of Sun City West, AZ; Tuc­son, AZ; Chero­kee Vil­lage, AR, and for­merly of Hori­con and Mil­wau­kee, passed away Au­gust 24, 2023, at Brookhaven As­sisted Liv­ing Fa­cil­ity in Sur­prise, AZ.   He was born on No­vem­ber 11, 1940, in Hori­con, to Harry and Olive (Kiekhae­fer) Grams. He was bap­tized on De­cem­ber 8, 1940, at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Hori­con. Spon­sors were Edwin Grams, George Nehring and Rose Haas(e). Bill was con­firmed in his Lutheran faith on April 11, 1954. He was a three-sport ath­lete in high school, play­ing foot­ball and bas­ket­ball and run­ning track.   Bill mar­ried his high school sweet­heart, Bev­er­ley Ann Tesch, of Hori­con and sub­se­quently moved to Mil­wau­kee to work at A.O. Smith, a man­u­fac­turer of au­to­mo­bile and truck frames.   Bill en­joyed play­ing sheepshead, camp­ing with his fam­ily, play­ing soft­ball and trav­el­ing to visit fam­ily.    He also worked as a ref­eree for high school foot­ball and bas­ket­ball games in his spare time.   He re­tired from A.O Smith, after work­ing there his whole adult life and moved to Chero­kee Vil­lage, AR, sev­eral years later. He and Bev split their re­tire­ment years, liv­ing be­tween Arkansas and Tuc­son, AZ. They en­joyed time with friends in both states, trav­el­ing, and host­ing fam­ily get-to­geth­ers. The pair shared a love of hik­ing trails in State Parks around the coun­try. Bill was a life­long church-goer and sup­porter of Wis­con­sin Synod Churches. His gen­eros­ity [in part] led to the build­ing of the new Early Child­hood cen­ter at Cross of Glory Lutheran School and Preschool in Peo­ria, AZ.    Sur­vivors in­clude sons, Michael L. Grams and wife, Sue Ann (nee Hess), of Big Bend and Tim­o­thy H. Grams and wife, Brenda K.    Trent Dean Twar­dokus en­tered the arms of his lov­ing Sav­ior on Mon­day, Sept. 4, 2023.   Trent was born on Au­gust 30, 1995, to Dean and Car­rie (Bunkoske) Twar­dokus. The fol­low­ing day he was bap­tized and be­came a Child of God. Trent was a life­long mem­ber of Trin­ity Ev. Lutheran Church in Huils­burg. He at­tended and grad­u­ated from the spe­cial ed­u­ca­tion pro­gram at Hori­con High School.    Trent touched the lives of many peo­ple through­out his life. Whether it be his ther­a­pists, teach­ers, friends, or fam­ily, Trent made a big im­pact on so many peo­ple. Trent did things in his own way and taught oth­ers to see the world through his eyes.    Trent loved being in his com­fort zone with his fam­ily. In his younger years, Trent en­joyed trav­el­ling to base­ball and foot­ball games to watch his brother, Nathan, play. He was a huge fan of the Green Bay Pack­ers. Many spe­cial mem­o­ries were made cheer­ing on the Pack­ers with his fam­ily. GO! PACK!    Mrs. Deb­bie Marie Cap­pelli of Hori­con, for­merly of Grafton, passed away late Mon­day evening, Sep­tem­ber 4, 2023, at Au­rora Zil­ber Hos­pice in Wauwatosa. She was 59 years old.   Deb­bie was born in Port Wash­ing­ton on Oc­to­ber 22, 1963, daugh­ter of Low­ell and Ar­lene (nee West) Lieben­stein. She grew up in Grafton and at­tended local schools, grad­u­at­ing from Grafton High School, Class of 1982. Deb­bie con­tin­ued her ed­u­ca­tion at Fox Val­ley Tech­ni­cal Col­lege, ob­tain­ing a cer­tifi­cate in truck dri­ving, be­fore earn­ing her bach­e­lor’s de­gree in busi­ness ad­min­is­tra­tion from UW-Mil­wau­kee in 1990.   While dri­ving 18-Wheel­ers over the road, she met the love of her life, John “JC” Cap­pelli. They were united in mar­riage on Jan­u­ary 27, 2001 in Ger­man­town and set­tled down in Hus­tis­ford, be­fore mov­ing to their home in Hori­con in 2010. They en­joyed a won­der­ful 22 years to­gether.   Deb was very artis­tic. She de­signed and made jew­elry for many years. She en­joyed trav­el­ing, tak­ing care of her home and yard, flower gar­den­ing and pho­tog­ra­phy. Fam­ily meant every­thing to her, and she was al­ways there if some­one needed help.   Those left to cher­ish her mem­ory in­clude her hus­band, John “JC”; her mother, Ar­lene Lieben­stein; brother, Troy (spe­cial friend Dawn Dieringer) Lieben­stein; mother-in-law, Adele Cap­pelli; and brother-in-law, Wal­ter Cap­pelli. War­ren C. Love­joy    War­ren C. Love­joy, 91, for­merly of Hori­con, passed away on Sun­day, Aug. 27, 2023, at Prairie Ridge As­sisted Liv­ing in Mayville, with his daugh­ter, Lori, by his side.   War­ren was born on May 20, 1932, in the Bran­don area to Byron and Norma (Nos­ter) Love­joy. He grad­u­ated from Bran­don High School in 1950. He en­listed in the Air Force shortly after grad­u­a­tion and served most of his term of duty in Japan.   After his re­turn home, he began work­ing at John Deere Hori­con Works.   On May 16, 1959, he mar­ried Donna We­ich­brodt at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Hori­con. They later bought a farm on St. He­lena Road, and he worked the farm while con­tin­u­ing to work at John Deere until his early re­tire­ment due to health is­sues on De­cem­ber 1, 1992.    War­ren loved the out­doors and en­joyed work­ing the fields on his farm. He loved to hunt and fish and spent many good times with his fa­ther and brother hunt­ing in Canada and North­ern Wis­con­sin.   War­ren is sur­vived by his daugh­ters, Lori (Richard) Marschke of Hori­con and Peggy (Robert) Web­ster of Stow, MA; grand­chil­dren, John (Melissa), Elias and Abi­gail; sis­ter, Carol (Earl) Navis of North Fond du Lac and sis­ter-in-law, Bev­erly We­ich­brodt of Hori­con; nieces and nephews and other rel­a­tives and friends.    He was pre­ceded in death by his par­ents; his wife, Donna; sis­ters, Jean Gohlke, Mae Holmer, and Betty Fre­ville; and brother, Ver­non Love­joy.    In fol­low­ing with the wishes of War­ren, there will be no for­mal fu­neral ser­vice.    Irene Mae McClellan, 86, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home in Wausaukee on August 21, 2023.    Irene was born the daughter of Samuel and Katherine Greshay on August 3, 1937, in Beaver Dam. She was a graduate of Horicon High School.    Irene was united in marriage to John “Bob” McClellan on September 24, 1977, and were blessed with 42 years of marriage.   Irene’s faith was something she lived everyday and could often be found reading her Bible or listening to it on tapes. She was a former member of Christian Life Fellowship in Mayville.   Irene enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. She also was an avid reader, especially of novels. Irene enjoyed passing time by bird watching.    Irene will be greatly missed by her children, Jeffrey (Julie) Miller of Horicon, Ann (Dan) Iverson of Wausaukee, David (Linda) Miller of Necedah; her four grandchildren, Jasmin, Jennifer, Joseph, and Joshua; nine great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.Irene was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Bob.   A graveside committal service for Irene will be held on Friday, August 25, at 11 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Horicon with Rev.    Thomas M. Westimayer, 69, of Burnett, passed away Monday August 7, 2023, at Froedtert Hospital surrounded by his loving and caring family.   Tom was born March 16, 1954, in Beaver Dam to Anton and Helen (Marthaler) Westimayer. After graduating from Horicon High School in 1973, he began his lifelong career of 32 years of service at John Deere Horicon works, helping to keep the assembly line running by repairing their air wrenches and tools.   Tom enjoyed his country acreage and his many travels to northern Wisconsin. Hunting, fishing, camping, skiing, kayaking, and biking are some of the many things that Tom enjoyed. A favorite destination was going to Erine’s Cabin with many of his lifelong friends.   Tom had a gift for fixing things and loved putting it to use. The number of repaired cars, lawnmowers, trimmers, and chainsaws he serviced for his family and friends would boggle the mind!   Tom loved his family and enjoyed helping his kids and grandkids anyway he could. He was an awesome father, grandfather, and brother to his nine siblings. Tom’s kind heart and family values touched many lives. People, not things, were most important to Tom. Many people considered Tom to be “family”.   Tom will be deeply missed by his best friend and partner, Desiree Wild; his son, Dylan (Ally) Westimayer; stepchildren, Jason (Michelle) Briena Thompson, Shelly Thompson (Mataya, Chloe Welak), Jason (Sophia, Saischia, Esperanza, Serenity) Vasconelos; his mother, Helen; and siblings, Dave (Jane) Westimayer, Barb (Dale) Keach, Tony (Mary Kay) Westimayer, Patty Spettel (Gary), Susie (Jim) Schumacher, Sandy (Randy) Franke, Mike (Jodie) Westimayer, Jon Westimayer (Elizabeth), Kathy (Wes) Elford; granddaughter, Ella Westimayer; and also nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.   Tom was preceded in death by his father, Anton Westimayer.   A memorial gathering for Tom will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 29, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, N7199 N.    Daniel “Dan” Lyons, age 65, a longtime resident of Naperville, IL, passed away at home August 9, 2023, with his family at his side after a courageous fight from esophageal cancer diagnosed in October, 2022.   He was born on April 3, 1958, in Beaver Dam. He was raised in Horicon, and lived in Milwaukee, after college, moving to Indianapolis, IN, after his marriage and eventually settling in Naperville, IL, in 1992 where he raised his family.   Daniel is survived by his loving wife, Mary Lyons (nee Kuehnle) whom he married June 21, 1986, at Nativity Catholic Church in Dubuque, IA; father of his devoted sons, Michael (Barbara) Lyons from Atlanta, GA, and Sean (Kathleen) Lyons; and “Papa” to his adored grandchildren, Kaden and Ella from Mt. Juliet, TN; sister, Kelly Anderson from Horicon; brother, Patrick (Carol) from Hayward; nieces and nephews, Becca, Aaron, Jackson and Eljah Keneally, Luke, Melissa, Jonathon, and Grace Riehbrandt, Aubrey Anderson, Madalyn and Hunter Lyons.   He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Carrie Lyons (nee Benter).   Dan was a lifelong lover of the outdoors, sports, and physical fitness. Growing up on the Horicon Marsh provided many opportunities for a “Tom Sawyer” childhood as Dan would say; hunting, fishing, and playing pick-up sports provided daily entertainment.   Dan graduated from Horicon High School and was the quarterback for the Marshmen football team, leading the school to its only undefeated season in the school’s history. He went on to graduate from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh with a Bachelor of Science degree where he continued to play football, was a member of the Letterman’s Club and the Conference Athletic Scholastic Honor Roll.   After graduation he became a Private Investigator for Wollermann & Corcoran, Inc. Investigative Services. Dan went on to a long career in consumer products as a Senior Manager of Category Management and Development for Unilever, Pactiv, Reynolds Consumer Products and Mead Johnson Nutrition, retiring in 2015 from corporate life. As a self-taught gym rat his whole life and continuing his passion for physical fitness and helping others to achieve their fitness goals, Dan returned to school to obtain his W.I.T.S certification as a Personal Trainer.    He loved his retirement job at the YMCA and was especially proud of his work with the youth and older clients as well until his final retirement in 2022. He continued to make it to the gym throughout his cancer journey which was a great source of pride and motivation for him. More than any job, Dan loved his family and never missed an opportunity to support and cheer for anything his sons were involved in from sports to academics to dancing. He cherished his newest title of Papa and couldn’t wait for each trip to Nashville to give his grandchildren all the attention he could. Dan also came to love summertime at their cottage on Frentress Lake, relaxing on the patio, taking boat rides on the Mississippi, and enjoying all the July 4th shenanigans. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Naperville, IL.   For those who would like to leave a lasting tribute to Dan’s life, memorial donations may be directed to the Lyons Family Trust of 2012 toward an educational fund for his current and any future grandchildren or to the Illinois Conservation Foundation, (please indicate your intention in the memo).    Stella M. Bauer, 90, of LeRoy, passed away peace­fully on Tues­day, Aug. 8, 2023, at Hos­pice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac.   Stella was born on May 28, 1933, to Frank and Ernes­tine (Rott) Nel­lessen. She was a grad­u­ate of Mayville High School Class of 1951 and was united in mar­riage to Willard “Bill” Bauer on Au­gust 30, 1952, at St. An­drew Catholic Church in LeRoy.   Stella was em­ployed at Mayville Metal for many years until her re­tire­ment in 1996.   Stella was a long­time mem­ber of St. An­drew Catholic Church in LeRoy. She was a mem­ber of the Chris­t­ian Moth­ers, the prayer line, served as a St. An­drew’s “Angel,” worked on the fu­neral com­mit­tee, and helped with the an­nual Ok­to­ber­fest chicken din­ner for many years. She en­joyed gar­den­ing, lis­ten­ing to the Brew­ers and Pack­ers, and trips to the casino with her daugh­ters to try her luck on the quar­ter ma­chines! More than any­thing, Stella loved spend­ing time with her fam­ily, es­pe­cially the grand­chil­dren and great-grand­chil­dren and at­tended many of their sport­ing and music events. Hol­i­day gath­er­ings were very im­por­tant to her, and many cher­ished fam­ily mem­o­ries were made.    Stella is sur­vived by her chil­dren, Sharon Woller­man (Michael Jakubek) of Neenah; Cindy (Hank) Hechi­movich of Oshkosh; Renee (Dean) Schwartzmiller of Mayville; Ron (Judy) Bauer of LeRoy; Brian (Shawn) Bauer of Mayville; Lori (Dar­ryl) Was­mund of Mayville; and Ann (Brad) Mueller of LeRoy; her daugh­ter-in-law, Dawn Bauer; her sis­ters-in-law, Mar­ion Ruddy of De­Pere; Pa­tri­cia Ster­nat of Lomira; Ar­lien Bauer of LeRoy; and Pa­tri­cia Nel­lessen of Fond du Lac; her grand­chil­dren, Melissa (Rob) Ernst, Tri­cia Woller­man, Shanna (An­thony) Mor­gan, Brad (Amy) Hechi­movich, Blaine Hechi­movich, Lucas (Emily) Hechi­movich, Nikki (Tyler) Zir­bel, Eric (Jes­sica) Schwartzmiller, Kasey (Travis) Borken­hagen, Corey Bauer, Tasha Bauer, Troy (Rachel) Bauer, Bri­anna “Sr. Car­o­line Marie” Bauer, Ash­ley (Bran­den) Kluge, Cody (Kelsey) Was­mund, Jesse Was­mund (Katie Tighe), Gen­e­sis Miller, Abbie (Sean) Krapfl, and Bran­don (Megan) Mueller; 25 great-grand­chil­dren; nieces, nephews, other rel­a­tives and friends.   Stella was pre­ceded in death by her par­ents; her hus­band, Bill; her son, Lee; her son-in-law, David Woller­man; her grand­daugh­ter, Kayla Hechi­movich; her brother, Vince, and sis­ter-in-law, Ar­lene Nel­lessen; her brother, Roger Nel­lessen; her sis­ter, Do­lores, and brother-in-law, Jerome Scharf; her sis­ter, Thelma, and brother-in-law, Roger Stof­fel; her in-laws, Her­man and Sabina Bauer, Richard and Lor­raine Bauer, Gor­don Ruddy, Eu­gene Bauer, and Den­nis and Dar­lene Bauer.   A Mass of Chris­t­ian Bur­ial was held on Fri­day, Aug. 11, at 12 p.m. at St. An­drew Catholic Church, LeRoy, with Rev. Fr. Ser­gio Lizama pre­sid­ing. A vis­i­ta­tion was held on Fri­day, Aug. 11, from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at St. An­drew Church. A pri­vate fam­ily en­tomb­ment took place at the Shrine of Rest Mau­soleum in Fond du Lac.   The fam­ily ex­tends their heart­felt ap­pre­ci­a­tion to the staff at Hos­pice Home of Hope, Fond du Lac, for the com­pas­sion­ate care pro­vided to Stella dur­ing her final days.    In lieu of flow­ers, memo­ri­als may be di­rected to St. An­drew Catholic Church Restora­tion Fund.   Koepsell Fu­neral Home, Mayville is serv­ing the fam­ily.
