Sally enjoyed her and Norbert’s many trips up north, going fishing and playing cards. He married Crystal Collien on October 10, 1981, in Horicon.  He worked for the family landfill business until the business was sold in 1993.  He then co-owned and operated Premier Plastics for several years until the business was sold.  He became a partner with his brothers in land development.  The most important thing in his life was becoming a father.  He loved every moment of coaching basketball and softball.  Beans loved the outdoors.  You could always find him in the yard working on his gardening and landscaping or in the woods hunting and working on projects.  His mum garden was one of his favorite pastimes.  Most people always say ‘WHY ME?’ when they are first diagnosed with cancer, but Beans will  always be remembered by saying ‘WHY NOT ME?’.  He wanted to be the one they cured and be able to help others, but God needed him more. Beans is survived by his wife, Crystal and two children, Brennon (special friend Kim) and Brianne (special friend Will).  He is further survived by his four brothers, Tim, Mark (Heather), David ‘Hank’ (Cindy), Greg (Jane); mother-in-law, Lucille Collien; sisters-in-law, Karen (Terry) Spannbauer, Sheryl Ker; brother- in-law, Dale (Connie) Collien and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Edward Collien; brother-in-law, Dave Kern; and his beloved family pet, Belle. Hoople, 78, of Ladysmith, died Friday, Feb. 21, 2020, at Marshfield Medical Center – Ladysmith. He was born on March 13, 1941, to Louis and Mildred (Shearman) Hoople in Ladysmith. He lived in Cornell, through his childhood. In 1961 he married Molly Key. He also served in the US Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962. Glen then was employed for 35 years at Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac. In 1985 he and Lois Jones were married. In 1992, Glen and Lois moved to Ladysmith and bought The American Bar and operated it for 12 years. He was a member of the Jaycees and was awarded the Outstanding Young American Award. Glen was also a member of the VFW and the Veterans Memorial Association in Ladysmith and a very active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. Glen is survived by his wife, Lois; eight children, Connie (Joe) Murray of Fond du Lac, Glen (Janis) Hoople of Fond du Lac, Mark McEathron of Ladysmith, John McEathron of North Fond du Lac, Paul (Jan) McEathron of Bruce, Brinda Jones of Ladysmith, Becky Jones of Fond du Lac and Barbara Jones of Ladysmith; 18 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, four granddogs, one grandcat; siblings, Joyce Siebel of Illinois, Roger (Carla) Hoople of Holcombe, Gene (Robin) Hoople of Hortonville, Nancy (Max) Weinert of Holland, Robert Hoople of Waupun, Dan Hoople of Virginia, Randy (Sue) Hoople of Green Bay, and many special nieces and nephews. On May 9, 1981, he was united in marriage to Ann Wirtz at Presentation Church in North Fond du Lac. Jim was a Machinist at Danly IEM (Anchor Danly) in Beaver Dam for 27 years. He taught his children work ethic with near perfect attendance and plenty of overtime during those years. He was a proud member of IAM Local Lodge 2053 (formerly 2052). He retired in 2013 and enjoyed retirement with his beloved wife, children and dog, Louie. He was a member of St. Luke’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Knowles. Jim was a sweet and generous person who loved his family. Melvin B. Thelen “The Boss”, 82, of rural Lomira was called home to be with the Lord on February 12, 2020 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac surrounded by his loving family. Melvin was born on February 1, 1938 in the house on the family farm, to Michael and Bernardine (Weyer) Thelen. He was united in marriage to Gerda M. Kormann on February 12, 1966 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lomira. Gerda passed away on May 3, 2012. Melvin worked on and later went on to own the family farm until his son took over in 1988. He continued to help almost every day until his passing. He was happiest when he was operating equipment, whether it was driving milk truck until he was 76 years old or spending thousands of hours behind the wheel of the combine. Melvin finished out the 2019 harvest the week prior to Christmas. His driving career began when he was 16 years old for Adrian Betz Trucking of Byron, followed by driving the family truck for Brownsville Canning Factory. Melvin later owned/operated Melvin Thelen Trucking, hauling milk. He finished his driving career hauling milk for Ron Meyer Trucking. Melvin loved fast cars, motorcycles and working in his shop for friends and neighbors. Melvin was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Lomira, the Lomira FFA Alumni and the Lomira Chamber of Commerce. Those Melvin leaves behind to cherish his memory include his two children, Christopher (Lona) Thelen of Town of Lomira and Marita (David) Eggers of Fond du Lac; three step-grandchildren, Cody (Maris) Schaefer of Brookfield, Cameron (Melanie) Schaefer of Menasha, and Ky Schaefer of Town of Lomira; step-great-grandson, Calvin Schaefer; brother-in-law, Eugene Klink of Lomira; sister-in-law, Mia Kormann of Germany. He had retired after 35 years from AOSmith Corporation, where he had worked as a tool and die maker. After retirement Frank kept busy with a home repair business while he was living in Arizona and Arkansas. In his spare time, Frank enjoyed hunting for gold in the Superstition Mountains and fishing in Arkansas. Frank is survived by his sons, Frank D. Jim was active in supporting his community; he was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #14478 and the Horicon Rotary and he enjoyed manning booths at the Dodge County Fair. Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman and also belonged to the Turkey Federation, Ducks Unlimited, Whitetails Unlimited, and the Swan Road Pheasant Club. He also never passed a casino he didn’t like. Shirley was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church. She spent her life taking care of the one’s she loved, her family. Shirley was very creative and enjoyed crafts and gaming trips. She will be fondly remembered for always being there and always being willing to lend a hand.
