Jean M. (Dewitz) Binkus, 70, passed away on May 13, 2020, in West Palm Beach, FL. She beat cancer but never fully recovered. Jean was born on December 13, 1949, in Fond du Lac the daughter of Walter and Marcella (Franke) Dewitz. Jean was a 1968 Horicon High School graduate. She married Rich Binkus New Years Eve 1999 in Beaver Dam. She lived in Beaver Dam, then moved to FL for retirement. Jean loved traveling with her husband, Rich. She enjoyed golfing, playing cards with the grandchildren and Mahjong with the ladies of IBIS. Jean is survived and will be missed deeply by husband, Rich Binkus of West Palm Beach, FL; and her sister, Sandi (Larry) Kohrt of Mayville; her two children, daughter, Jackie (Chad) Westover of Princeton; and son, Dusty Bensley of Waupun; and her two granddaughters, Jasymn Bensley and Alyssa Westover and two step-grandsons, Michael Sutton and Aaron Westover. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, James Dewitz; and nephew, Travis Oresnik and niece, Tammy Warden. Roger Rufus Kahlhammer, 81, of Neshkoro, passed away at his home surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, May 10, 2020. He was born on August 15, 1938, in Kekoskee, a son of Rufus and Ruby Anna (Meyer) Kahlhamer. Roger proudly served his country in the United States Airforce. On March 11, 1967, he married Sandra Kay Asmus in Kekoskee. For 30 years, he worked for John Deere in Horicon as an assembler. Roger was also a bartender at various establishments throughout the years and always loved meeting new people. He was the Cow Catcher of Germania. Roger enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping with his family and going fishing. Spending time with and spoiling his grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him great joy. Roger is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sandra Kahlhammer of Neshkoro; four children, Laura (Larry) Ankerson of Gillett, Jolene (Jayson) Lentz of Mayville, Heidi Pressler of Neshkoro, Kevin Kahlhammer of Madison; six grandchildren, Kayla, Jeremy, Amber, Kyle, Aaron and Kayden; three great-grandchildren, Raina, Jackson; one great-grandson due in August; sister, Lavonne (Alex) Kummerow of Mayville; other relatives and friends near and far. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Ruby Kahlhamer; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roland and Helen Asmus; grandson, Samuel Rohde. Clarice Isabelle (Thurk) Hoffman, 93, formerly of Mayville/LeRoy, has been reunited with her husband James on Friday, May 1, 2020, while living at Marvin’s Manor in Horicon since December of 2019. Clarice was born on December 4, 1926, to Clarence and Rosa (Oeschner) Thurk at their country home in rural LeRoy. On June 6, 1953, she married the love of her life, James Robert Hoffman of Mayville, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Their attendants were Jerome and Margaret Hoffman. Clarice had worked at Regal Ware for several years. She loved making fudge with Jim along with making many quilts and countless afghans, as well as, growing beautiful flower gardens. Clarice is survived by her children, Joe of Shawano, Diane (Brian) Sindahl of Mountain, and Janet (Steve) Luebke of Mayville; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Jeff) Ewing of Fall River, Jessica (Russell) Wolf of Breed, Lauren Hoffman of Green Bay, Claire Luebke (Bradley Kulibert) of Fox Lake, and Nicholas Luebke of Mayville; her great-grandchildren, Austin Fidler, Colton Johann, Ted Hatfield, Nathan Butler and Lilly Wolf. Clarice is further survived by her brother and sister-in-law, John and Sylvia Thurk of La Crosse; sister and brother-in-law, Katherine and Peter Quinn of LeRoy; sisters-in-law, Beth Thurk of Arkdale and Nellie Thurk of LeRoy. Clarice was preceded in death by her husband James in 2011; her daughter-in-law, Suzanne Hoffman and great-grandson, Braeden Johann; her brothers, George Thurk and Charles (Ida) Thurk and her sister, Rosemary (Edward) Sukowatey. Clarice will be laid to rest with private family services at the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in Fond du Lac on Friday, May 8, with Rev. Sara Gillespie officiating. Delores M. Becker, 85, of Iron Ridge passed away on April 28, 2020. She was born on July 24, 1934, at Lebanon, to Carl and Gertrude (Radloff) Stark She attended Bethany Lutheran Grade School and graduated from Hustisford High School, Class of 1952. On August 2, 1952, she was married to her life partner, soulmate and love of her life, Calvin Becker at St John’s Lutheran Church, Woodland. They were privileged with 67 blessed year together; he survives her. Their union was blessed with five children, Nancy Baney, Bonnie Becker, Stuart Becker, Karen (Don) Baney and Richard Becker; five grandchildren, Christopher and Nicholas Baney, Benjamin and Brock Becker and Abigail (Zachary) Kimmel; two great-grandsons, Collin and Remington Baney. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandsons were her pride and joy, countless hands of ‘Crazy 8”, many special moments shared Other survivors include brother, Roger (Judi) Stark; brother-in-law, Hank Durest; in-laws, Ruby Gentz, Evangeline Gunka, Beverly (Steve) Mann and Jean Chapman. Delores was a shy, quiet ‘city gal’ who married a farmer and devoted her time, talents and energy to being a farmer’s wife and partner. Together they worked their land, did chores and somehow found time to raise their family and have fun. She was a member of St John’s Church, Woodland, active in their Ladies Aid and lending her voice to the church choir. Hobbies included 30+ years bowling–sometimes three times a week, fishing–loved catching and frying bullheads, the best fish in her opinion. Took great pride in her large garden, preserving all that the Lord provided. Found time for needle and thread, embroidering towels, pillowcases and ‘dresser scarves’ and perpetual mending for her family. Baking–Christmas provided dozens of her creations, bake sale donations—over the top—such a labor of love. Gave freely to all, farm bookkeeper, had all the facts even for 2020 tax filing, always her best for others. In later years Delores and Calvin discovered a love for travel and ‘road trips’, ‘Up north’ to get away, Louisville, KT annually, Branson, MO, East and West coasts, antique and steam power shows, craft/flea markets and the ‘back roads’ of Wisconsin. Many miles logged along the Mississippi River, probably visited every city and hamlet on both sides. And of course, the annual apple orchard trips to assure apples for her family. Had an atlas built in. Had a knack for remembering the places they had been. Due to the current health restrictions, a graveside committal service with Pastor James Castello officiating will take place on Friday, May 1, at Hustisford Cemetery. Frederick William “Fred” Zingsheim, 78, of Theresa, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, April 22, 2020, at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac. Fred was born on February 28, 1942, at home in the Township of Hustisford, the son of Paul and Catherine (Lischka) Zingsheim. On October 23, 1971, he was united in marriage to Dianne L. Kruzan. Fred attended Hustisford Grade School and then Mayville High School. After high school he worked on his dad’s farm, and then served in the United States Army for eight years. In that time, he was stationed in Germany until his deployment to Vietnam for 31 months. He belonged to the Theresa American Legion Post 270 for 50 years, and belonged to the Mayville VFW Post 10170. After his military service he worked numerous jobs and then went to Broan Nu-Tone where he retired in 2001, after 31 years of service. Fred loved spending his summers up north at his mobile home with his wife just to relax, go fishing and going to casinos. He loved his Wisconsin Badgers and other sports. In the winter months he loved deer hunting, bowling couple’s leagues and dart leagues. Most of all, he enjoyed a good game of Sheepshead. Fred is survived by his wife, Dianne of 48 ½ years; one sister, Rita Schulties; Dianne’s sister, Linda (Courtney) Daniel; brother-in-law, Roy Ewert; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Zingsheim. He is further survived by two godchildren, Tracie (Kurt) Frank and Stephanie Klemme; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Catherine Zingsheim; two infant brothers, Harvey and Harvey; three brothers, Dan, Eugene, and Philip Zingsheim; and three sisters, Veronica Ewert and Genevive (Wilfred) Schmidt, and Pauline (William) Kenealy; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Arlene Kruzan (nee Hoepner).
