Charlotte Mae Olsen

Charlotte Mae Olsen Charlotte Mae Olsen
Charlotte Mae Olsen, 93, of Fond du Lac, (formerly of Theresa) went home to our Lord and Savior on December 10, 2021, at Edenbook in Fond du Lac.
She was born on November 12, 1928, in Theresa, to Marguerite Anninger Olsen and Edward Frederick Olsen, formerly of Hampshire, IL. She was the great-grandchild of pioneers in Theresa: Conrad and Margarethe Boller and Virgilius and Marguerite Anninger, as well as grandchild of Frank and Phoebe Anninger, Theresa and Mr. and Mrs. Martin Ilsen, Hampshire, IL.
Charlotte attended Theresa State Grade School for grades 1-10, and then graduated from Mayville High School for grades 11-12. She then attended Oshkosh State Teachers College, where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in elementary education, and, while attending, was a member of the college’s chorus, Phi Lambda Theta, and The Phoenix; a social sorority.
Since she so highly believed in education, she then received her Master’s Degree in elementary education from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where she held high honors, and was a charter member of Kappa Delta Pi. Charlotte lovingly taught primary grades for 40 years in Sheboygan, Wauwatosa, Long Beach, CA, and Fox Point-Bayside Schools, a suburb of Milwaukee, from which she retired in 1990.
Charlotte delightfully volunteered at Lomira Public School for 13 years as the “Reading Lady”, soon after her retirement. She was active in the Theresa Legion and Auxiliary Post 270, St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Theresa, Theresa Lioness Club, as well as the Fond du Lac Lioness Club. She had a great interest in Theresa’s history, thus was a member of the Solomon Juneau/Theresa Historical Society. Other joys that filled her days were entertaining family and friends, spending time with her beloved pets, traveling, nature, and being a patron of the Fine Arts.
Charlotte leaves behind distant, but close cousins, Gary Renard of Elgin, IL, and Nancy Mc Keating of Elgin, IL; her close friends, Richard and Julie Gedemer and family; and so many other loved ones that she has met along the way.
A special thank you to all of the staff from Tarfa Terrace, Lake View Place, Edenbrook, Agnesian Hospice for the love and care you provided for Charlotte, and for all of the love and support from friends and family through the years.
A funeral service for Charlotte will take place on Friday, Dec. 17, at 12 noon at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Theresa with the Rev. Jonathan Learman officiating. Visitation will take place on Friday, Dec. 17, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at noon at the church. Interment will take place at Union Cemetery in Theresa.
In lieu of flowers, if desired, please make memorials to the Theresa Historical Society.
