Ronald K. Leonard

Ronald K. Leonard died No­vem­ber 8, 2021, of Parkin­son’s in Galena, IL.
Ron had a long ca­reer as a prod­uct de­sign en­gi­neer with Deere & Com­pany in Des Moines, Hori­con, and Wa­ter­loo.
Ron was an as­so­ci­ate pro­fes­sor of the ABE De­part­ment at Iowa State Uni­ver­sity at the time of his death.
Ron was an avid hunter, sports en­thu­si­ast, ac­com­plished wood­worker, pub­lished au­thor, and poet. He loved fol­low­ing the Iowa State Cy­clones.
He is sur­vived by his wife of 67 years, Eliz­a­beth (Mul­lenix) Leonard; chil­dren: De­laine Leonard, Austin, TX; Dan Leonard, In­dian Trail, NC; and Diane (Thomas) Gun­drum, Mil­wau­kee; grand­chil­dren, Megan and Trevor Gun­drum; and sis­ters, Mary Jane Foutch and Betty Ringstad.
The Fur­long Fu­neral Chapel, Galena, is as­sist­ing the fam­ily.
