Korean War Veteran Recalls Impoverished Country

“The children,” recalled Korean War veteran Chester Margelofsky, a lifelong Mayville resident. “They had nothing to eat, the country was so poor.” A memory which has remained the strongest with Margelofsky, a Sergeant 1st Class in the Army, who served from 1952-1954 during and after the Korean War.
