| FROM THE SHERIFF’S DESK | 9-1-1 Hang-ups DALE SCHMIDT SHERIFF, DODGE COUNTY Law enforcement has a responsibility to respond to 9-1-1 calls for service and we do so every day. Many of those 9-1-1 calls end up being what we call 9-1-1 hangups in which someone accidentally calls 9-1-1 and then hangs up. Other times individuals call 9-1-1 and then hang up because they need assistance
