Kathleen F. Albrecht, 70, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg.
Kathleen Faye was born the daughter of Helmuth and Elena (Walters) Qualmann on September 15, 1950 in Beaver Dam. She was baptized December 30, 1950 at St. John’s Lutheran Church (Browns Corner) in rural Horicon. She was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Madison in 1964. She was a 1968 graduate of Marshall High School. Kathleen was united in marriage to Larry Albrecht on July 9, 1967 and later divorced. Kathleen worked for the State of Wisconsin in various capacities. She was receptionist in the Governor’s office for Gov. Tommy Thompson and then retired as a program assistant in Health &
In her spare time Kathleen enjoyed spending time with her family and making crafts and greeting cards. She also loved to travel and took numerous trips to Europe to visit relatives in France. One of the trips she took with her brother, Gene was to see the invasion site at Normandy Beach where her dad landed and fought in WWII. Kathleen was an active member of Living Waters Church in Sun Prairie. She loved Jesus and even took online correspondence courses with a Hebrew instructor from Israel, so she could learn the Hebrew language in order to better understand the Bible.
Kathleen is survived by her grandchildren- Dakota and Kaiya Albrecht. Her brothers- Wayne (Crystal) Qualmann and Gene (Susan) Qualmann. Her sister in law Toni Qualmann. Former daughter in law-Tammy (George) Abdon. Former Sister in law- Virginia Qualmann. Nieces: Amy (Brian Daly) Qualmann; Carrie (Eric) Pettey; Shonda (Dwayne) Nedd; Nephews: Justin Qualmann; Jeremy Qualmann and many cousins and other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Larry Albrecht, son Laurence, infant sister Laurie Qualmann, and brother Robert Qualmann.
A private family funeral service for Kathleen will take place on Saturday, May 15 at the Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville with Pastor Isaac Fleming officiating. A public visitation will be held on Saturday, May 15 from 10 a.m. until noon at the Koepsell Funeral Home. Interment will take place at St. John Cemetery (Browns Corner) in Horicon.
Memorials may be directed to Living Waters Church in Sun Prairie.
