Barbara A. Simon (nee Michaels), 82, of Lomira passed away on Monday, February 22, 2021 at Sage Meadows Assisted Living in Fond du Lac.
Barb was born in Fond du Lac on March 12, 1938, the daughter of the late Guy and Vernice Michaels (nee Jesse). She graduated from Lomira High School in 1956. Barb was united in marriage to Donald Simon on December 10, 1983. She worked for 37 years at Regal Ware until her retirement in 2000.
Barb was an active member of the Bintzler-Waehler American Legion Post #347 and loved all her time supporting the Legion. Barb and Don enjoyed traveling-especially to Branson, MO where she enjoyed listening to Country Music. She was a member of Country Club Western Dancers. Barb enjoyed baking and decorating cakes. Barb was a very social person and loved entertaining family and friends at her home. She enjoyed many hours playing Cribbage with Don and had a card club of close friends. She was an active member of TOPS and loved water aerobics at the Tag Center. She enjoyed all the friends she had made over the years. Her last year was spent at Sage Meadows Assisted Living where she made wonderful new friends and received loving care. Her family is forever grateful.
Above all else, she cherished her grandchildren and enjoyed watching them grow up. Barb was delighted when she recently became a great-grandma.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include her two children, Stephen Stalker and Carla (Larry) Luedtke; two grandchildren, Kalee (Mitchel) Buss and Mathew Luedtke; great-grandson, Hudson Buss; and brother, Lawrence (Joanne) Michaels of Fond du Lac. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; and brothers, William and James Michaels; sister, Kathryn (William) Schultz; and former husband, Marlyn Stalker.
A memorial service for Barb will be held on what would have been Barb’s 83rd Birthday, Friday, March 12, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the Myrhum Patten Funeral Home, 350 Main Street, in Lomira.
Barb’s family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
A private inurnment will be held at Ledgeview Memorial Park in Fond du Lac.
