Gregory A. Vieaux, 71, of Union Grove, formerly of Horicon passed away on November 13, 2020, in Union Grove.
Greg was born the son of Lawrence and Barbara (Schultz) Vieaux on November 10, 1949, in Milwaukee.
He was a 1967 graduate of Messmer High School.
He had worked as a barber for over 15 years and then at MEC for 20 years. MEC is also where he met his wife, Ellen. On March 8, 2003, they were united in marriage at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Horicon.
He was a member at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Horicon, where he volunteered and helped keep the church clean.
In his spare time, Greg had enjoyed golfing, body building, hunting, and archery. He was a lifetime member of the Horicon Marsh Bowman. He also loved golfing and was a member of the Mayville Golf Course. Greg loved going out for dinner, especially a good fish fry.
Family was very important to Greg and he cherished the time spent with them. He loved to watch his nephews play football and visiting his grandchildren.
Helping others was another important part of Greg’s life. He had 34 years of sobriety and spent countless hours being an active member/sponsor for AA, including holding meetings at Dodge County Correctional Facility. Greg will be missed by many.
Greg is survived by his wife, Ellen, of Union Grove; his daughter, Cheryl (Dan) Krupp and their children, Savannah and Mary; his stepson, Justin (Sarah) Schmidt and their twins, Jay and Quinn; his sister, Karen (Tony) MacCudden; his brother, Bryan (Kelly) Vieaux; brother-in-law, Ed Barker. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, In laws, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Vicki Vieaux; mother-in-law, Anna Schmidt; brother and sister-in-law, Karl and Fran Schmidt; niece, Dawn Schmidt; and his great friend, Shirley Myles.
Visitation will be held on Monday, Nov. 30, from 12 noon until the service at 1 p.m. at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Horicon.
A memorial service for Greg will be held on Monday, Nov. 30, at 1 p.m. at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Horicon with the Rev. Daniel Seehafer officiating. Face masks and social distancing are encouraged for the health and safety of everyone.
The outdoors and the environment was important to Greg and Ellen and his family chose to have a green burial at Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha.
