Marge E. Nitschke, 91, of Mayville, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2020, at the Crossroads Care Center in Mayville.
Marge Elizabeth was born the daughter of Lorenz and Kathryn (Zinn) Huttner on March 12, 1929, in Beaver Dam.
On April 10, 1950, Marge was united in marriage with Frank Nitschke Jr. in Stayton, OR.
She was employed by the West Bend Company and served as Chief Union Steward for many years. She retired from the Taycheedah Prison as a kitchen supervisor. Marge served on the Moraine Park Technical College District Board for three years and served as an Alderman for the City of Mayville for four years.
Marge was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mayville.
She enjoyed traveling and gambling with her friend Ed Bartsch. Marge loved flowers, the Packers, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.
She will be missed by her son, Mike and his wife, Lora of Shawano, three grandchildren, the joy of her life: Scott and Jill of Campbellsport, Randy and Kassi of North Fond du Lac and Christina and Shawn Tischer of Tigerton, her great-grandchildren, Tate, Easton, Addelyn and Millie; and one sister, Caroline (Al) Buss of Beaver Dam. Marge is further survived by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Frank Jr. in 1993; daughter, Charon; sisters, Pauline (Joseph) Sawyer, Kathryn (Carl) Kanas, Anna Huttner; one brother, Henry (Helen) Huttner and her in-laws, Gilbert and Joan Nitschke.
A memorial gathering will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mayville.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will follow at the church at 11 a.m. with Father Tom Biersack presiding.
