Frank Douglas Johnson, Jr., 80, of Rhinelander, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020, in Marshfield.
Frank was born the son of Frank and Audrey (Hauck) Johnson on October 19, 1939, in Barton County.
He was a 1958 graduate of Menomonee Falls High School. Following high school, Frank served his country in the Army Reserves.
Frank was united in marriage to Luann Margelofsky on May 16, 1960, in Davenport, IA.
He had retired after 35 years from AOSmith Corporation, where he had worked as a tool and die maker.
After retirement Frank kept busy with a home repair business while he was living in Arizona and Arkansas.
In his spare time, Frank enjoyed hunting for gold in the Superstition Mountains and fishing in Arkansas.
Frank is survived by his sons, Frank D. (fiancé Connie Kuczmarski) Johnson, III of Rhinelander and Kent A. (Kim) Johnson of Plymouth; his siblings, David Johnson of Milwaukee, Mary (Doug) Krueger of Hartland, Don Johnson of West Bend, and John Johnson of Green Bay; his grandchildren, Meghan (Daniel) Isaacs, Amanda (Pedram) Neku, Jacob (Bethany) Johnson, and Emily (Luke) Van Der Puy; his five great-grandchildren, Diana, Elsie, Caleb, Elijah, and Ruby; his sisters-in-law, Diane (Jim) Qualmann of Horicon, Mary Ann (Dave) Roecker of Mayville, and Suzanne (Ray) Erickson of Horicon. Frank is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Luann.
A visitation was held on Saturday, Feb. 22, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mayville.
A memorial service for Frank was held on Saturday, Feb. 22, at 12 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mayville with the Rev. Sara Gillespie officiating. Military honors were conducted by the Mayville American Legion Post #69.
