Adeline M. Flasch

Adeline Marie Flasch (Tackes), age 96 years and a couple of weeks, of Barton was called home to be with the Lord on July 24, 2019 at GranCare in Fond du Lac surrounded by her family.

Adeline was born on July 10, 1923 in the Town of Farmington to Robert and Helen Tackes (Szumski).

She was united in marriage to Wilmer Flasch on February 24, 1941 at St. John of God in the Town of Farmington. Wilmer passed away on July 27, 1985.

Adeline was raised on a farm near Boltonville until 1928. Her parents bought the farm near Cheeseville. The family belonged to St. John of God Catholic Church near Boltonville. Adeline was baptized, confirmed, received the Eucharist, and was married at St. John of God. Her funeral on Tuesday will complete the circle.

Adeline was in the North Trenton Homemakers Club for 41 years. She was the Trentonaires 4-H general leader for 31 years. Adeline enjoyed quilting, crocheting, knitting and craft classes at the Senior Center where she belonged for 45 years. She was a member of Christian Women at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception and Young at Heart.

Adeline made at least two quilts per year, including 25 log cabin quilts. Her family members were given quilts when they got married.

Adeline made over 200 quilts in her lifetime. She did gardening and canning for many, many years, and played Sheepshead whenever she had a chance. Adeline entered 50 or more items every year at the Washington County Fair, winning hundreds of ribbons over the years. She sewed dresses for herself and for her daughters as they grew up. She also sewed wedding dresses for her daughters’ weddings; along with numerous flowergirls and bridesmaids dresses. Adeline raced cars at Slinger Speedway for a couple of years when she was younger.

Those Adeline leaves behind to cherish her memory include her four children, Barbara Ann Schneider, Beatrice (Mike) Weiss, Marilyn Wegner, Ronald (Vicki) Flasch; 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by two sisters, Darleen Rochwite and Darceal Jordan; two brothers-in-law, Robert Flasch and Richard Slavik; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and her husband, Wilmer; Adeline was preceded in death by four sisters, five brothers and many in-laws.

Interment at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Cemetery (Forest View Rd.) following Mass. Memorials to the Arthritis Foundation.

Adeline’s family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at GranCare for the loving care they provided.
