Steven S. Bonlender, 63, went home to heaven where they need help with the farm fields Saturday, July 13, 2019, at Kathy Hospice after a courageous battle with cancer with his beloved family gathered with him.

He was born December 5, 1955, in Fond du Lac, the son of Harold E. and Eileen A. (Steger) Bonlender.

On September 30, 1978, Steve married Mary Lou M. Fell at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Ashford.

Steve was employed at Kasten Mfg, drove milk truck, spent 25 years as a foreman/operating engineer for Michels Corporation and worked for many farmers throughout his life.

He had a passion for farming and enjoyed hunting, ice fishing, snowmobiling, bowling, ATVing, tractor pulls and farm auctions. Most important to Steve was time spent with family and friends, especially his five granddaughters.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Mary Lou; son, Rick (Ashley) Bonlender and their daughters, Sierrah, Kennedy and Holland, daughter, Krystle (Adam) Helsell and their daughters, Mackenzie and Libbie; siblings, Darlene (Allen) Werkmeister, Loren (Gail) Bonlender, Sharon (Dennis) Hundt and Mary B. (Joseph) Spaeth; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Fell, Donald Fell, Randall (Tina) Fell and Gordon (Robin) Fell; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and infant sister, Rita.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 20, beginning at 9 a.m. until time of Mass at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 331 Main St., Kewaskum.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, July 20, at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Rev. Mark Jones officiating.

The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Burfeind and staff for their care and support during Steve’s illness.
