Village of Theresa Clerk-Treasurer Becky Tellier Receives Master Municipal Clerk Designation

Posted
On Thursday, March 27, Village of Theresa Clerk-Treasurer Becky Tellier received the designation of Master Municipal Clerk (MMC) from the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC).
Since the designation’s development in 1980, IIMC has bestowed over 1,300 MMC titles to clerks across the United States and Canada.
“IIMC grants the MMC designation only to those Municipal Clerks who complete demanding education requirements and who have a record of significant contributions to their local government, their community, and state,” said IIMC President Lisa Garcia.
The MMC education requirements include completing extensive public administration-related coursework at an IIMC-approved academy.
The pursuit of professional excellence was a large proponent of Tellier’s decision to pursue the rigorous MMC designation demands.
“I am dedicated to professional growth and excellence in municipal administration,” stated Tellier. “Although I have a strong background in elections administration and municipal governance, the MMC program enhanced my skills in leadership, financial management, and policy-making. Ongoing education and professional development are vital for strengthening my ability to serve the village and its residents effectively.”
“In light of the speed and drastic nature of change these days, lifelong learning is not only desirable, it is necessary for all in local government to keep pace with growing demands and changing needs of the citizens we serve,” said President Garcia. “We applaud Tellier’s educational accomplishments and achievement of this milestone and congratulate her on her personal pursuit of professional excellence.”
