Mayville Rotary Holds Day of Service at Kayak Launch

Mayville Rotary Club members rolled up their sleeves Thursday, Aug. 27, for a Day of Service at the club’s free community kayak launch in City Park near the park pavilion. Organized by club member and Service Committee Chair Eric Villwock, volunteers scrubbed and cleaned the kayaks, launch area and storage shed while inspecting boats and paddles for wear. The club recently purchased seven new kayaks to add to the free community launch while removing several worn-out boats from service. Helping with the cleanup were Villwock, Dave Westphal, John Storck, JoAnn Kaiser, Rhonda Roehrig, Cindy Steinback, Kari Karnitz, Justin and Denise Yanke, their sons Oliver and John and the family’s energetic pup.
