Mayville Mayor’s Report

December 2025

Posted

Hello friends, neighbors, and residents of Mayville!
I want to begin by thanking Main Street Mayville for hosting this year’s Annual Holiday Parade. I also want to extend my gratitude to all the generous sponsors and participants who helped make the parade such a remarkable success. Although I had a family obligation and could not attend, I want to thank each and every one of you for your hard work and dedication. Thank you!
I am so proud to share that the Mayville High School Football Team has captured the 2025 Division 5 State Championship! I issued a proclamation declaring December 9, 2025, as Mayville Football Day. To honor the team and coaches, I invited them to our recent City Council meeting so we could celebrate this outstanding achievement together. Nothing brings a town together quite like a state title. Congratulations, and GO CARDS!
A few months ago, following the closure of the SSM Health Clinic, I established the Community Health Advisory Committee. This group has met several times to assess the health needs of our community. They have brought forward thoughtful ideas related to community health, mental health, pharmaceuticals, and overall well-being. These initiatives take time, but they have already set meaningful goals and made great progress. I am proud of their work and offer them my full support moving forward.
This month, I also met with the Breckenridge Condo Association at their annual meeting. It was a pleasure to introduce myself and answer questions on a variety of topics impacting our community. Thank you to Mary Winter for the invitation—I look forward to future conversations.

Additionally, the Marsh Area Chamber of Commerce held their annual dinner at the Mayville Golf Course. Although I was under the weather and unable to attend, I want to recognize and congratulate Jessica Lawrence, our Citizen of the Year, for her tremendous efforts in coordinating tornado relief. I also want to congratulate ACE Hardware on being named Business of the Year for their ongoing commitment to serving our community.
I also held a quarterly department head meeting this month to discuss goals and expectations as we close out 2025 and prepare for 2026. We are fortunate to have so many dedicated employees serving our city, and I am grateful for the work they do each and every day on behalf of our residents.
As we wrap up 2025 and enter the holiday season, I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a joyful holiday spent with family and friends. May the coming year bring you good health and happiness.
I hope to see you around town—and as always, please say hi.
