James Edward Frank Rieman, “JR” age 82, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025, surrounded by his family at his home in Burnett.
JR was born on April 8, 1942, in Dodge County to Merlin and Norma (Genrich) Rieman. After graduating high school in 1960 and trying out a few different jobs; family farming and driving truck for Hanefeld’s, JR began a 44-year career at John Deere Horicon Works before retiring in 2007.
On March 2, 1984, JR married Faye Adams at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Horicon. He served as a volunteer firefighter for the Burnett Fire Department. He also enjoyed water fighting and softball at various fireman’s picnics through the years.
JR had a passion for snowmobiling and traveling. His work took him to many places; Yellowstone National Park, Alaska, Arizona, Florida. JR and Faye enjoyed traveling where they enjoyed Jamaica, Florida, along with many other places. He was a proud member of the TT Riders snowmobile club, where he was also part of the formation of the club. He also loved classic country music, coffee clutches, and solving puzzles in his free time. In retirement, he became the beloved "taxi driver" for his family, always willing to take loved ones to appointments and events.
JR will be remembered for his dedication to his family and community. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
James is survived by his wife, Faye; children, Craig Polak (Jan Fox), Heidi (Dusty) Gerrits, Shana Schultz (special friend, Kevin) and Brian (Janel) Rieman; grandchildren, Will (special friend, Lauren) and Jake, Zachary (Lori), Trevor (Special friend, Hailey), Baylee (special friend, Ryan), Noah, Dylan and Logan, and adoptive granddaughter, Jade; great- grandchildren, Chloe, Amia, and Xavier; and his dear puppy, Zoe; other relatives and friends.
