Margaret N. Meyer (formerly Retzlaff, nee Schuett), 92, of Mayville was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 19, 2023, at Prairie Ridge Assisted Living in Mayville surrounded by her loving family.   Margaret was born on August 20, 1930, in Rubicon to Paul and Clara Schuett (nee Wolter).   She was united in marriage to Marvin Retzlaff on November 26, 1949. Marvin passed away May 23, 1972. She married Floyd Meyer on October 25, 1975. Floyd passed away December 24, 1983.   Margaret enjoyed bowling, camping, playing cards, traveling, and especially spending time with family and friends. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels for many years. Margaret was known for chauffeuring her family and friends to sight-seeing destinations and casino junkets.    Margaret was a long-time member at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mayville, where she volunteered during many church functions over the years.   Those Margaret leaves behind to cherish her memory include four children, James (Diane) Retzlaff, Evelyn (Richard) Wendt, Diane (Ken) Walters, and Deborah (Richard Sr.) Klapper; 11 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her youngest brother, Mark (the late Bonnie) Schuett; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.    Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; and twelve siblings.   A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 3, at 12 p.m. at St. Paul Church (16 S Walnut St. – Mayville, WI 53050). The family will greet relatives and friends on Monday at church from 10 a.m. until the time of Service.    Daniel D. Nault, 73, of Horicon, formerly of Ironwood, MI, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023, at Aurora Summit Hospital with his family by his side.   Daniel was born the son of Delbert and Nellie (Rutherford) Nault on April 19, 1949, in Wakefield, MI.   He faithfully served his country as a veteran of the US Marine Corps. Dan had retired from Precision Gears in Pewaukee.   In his spare time, Dan enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also crafted his own fishing lures. He loved traveling to the Northwoods, especially Vilas County. He also had a knack for classic cars and had restored a GTO and modified his son’s big wheel with the shift knob from the car so his son would be able to shift in style! Dan liked to socialize with family and friends and enjoyed a good card game. Dan was also an avid slot machine enthusiast.   Faith was also important to Dan, and he read his Bible nightly. His famous pasties and waffles will be carried on by his family with love and great memories! Dan will be fondly remembered for his kind heart and always being there to help others.   Dan is survived by his children, Pamela (Dan) Niemi, Tina Nault, Kathy (Shane Weimer) Nault, and Joe Nault; his siblings, Frank (Michelle) Nault and Susan Nault; his grandchildren, Dillon, Melanie, Mason, Kylee, Tyler, Jalynn, Jayden, Ava, and Aliana; his great-granddaughter, Memengwna; his former spouses, Doris Hoglund and Linda Thorsby; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.   He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandson, Carston; and his brother, Jerome.   A celebration of Dan’s life will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at the Dodge County Ledge Park (Upper Pavilion) from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.   Special thanks to Rev.    Lloyd V. Schwartzmiller, 95, of Mayville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac.   Lloyd was born the son of Victor and Adeline Schwartzmiller on January 10, 1928, in Mayville. Lloyd was confirmed on April 16, 1941, by Pastor H. A. Michelke. Lloyd joined the United States Air Force in 1950 and served his county until 1954.    Lloyd was united in marriage to his wife, Bea, on June 29, 1957, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Lloyd and Bea were blessed with 57 years of marriage. He considered being married to Bea the highlight of his life.    Lloyd’s passion for sports shown through while attending Mayville High School, where he played four years of football, basketball, and baseball. He also played two years of tennis. For his senior year, Lloyd was voted captain of the basketball team. Lloyd went on to play three years of basketball at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. He later went on to play for the Mayville Legion baseball team. He played with the Mayville City Team for over 25 years, winning several batting crowns and made every all-state team. He also played two games at Milwaukee County Stadium with a pickup team from Long Lake. The pickup team won their first game. The highlight of Lloyd’s baseball career was being inducted into the Rock River Basketball Hall of Fame on September 19, 1981. Lloyd was also inducted into the Mayville High School Hall of Fame on January 27, 2017.   Lloyd also loved bowling. He bowled for many years with a high game of 287, getting 10 strikes in a row. In 1969, Lloyd took up golf. He was an active member of the Mayville Golf Club for some 50 plus years. On June 13, 2006, Lloyd recorded a hole in one on the 6th Hole, par 3 at Rock River Hills golf course in Horicon. This significant event was witnessed by his good friends, Rags (Walter) Schellpfeffer and Chuck Williams. On October 30, 2007, Lloyd recorded yet another hole in one on Hole #17 at the Mayville Golf Course. This hole in one was witnessed by Rags Schellpfeffer and Marc Trott.    Lloyd’s faith in God remained strong throughout his life. He was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Mayville. He also served on the church council for several years. Lloyd also cherished his family. He and Bea loved watching his children and grandchildren play sports. They never missed a game. He also enjoyed watching and feeding the birds and planting flowers. Lloyd was a member of the Mayville American Legion for some 60 plus years.    Lloyd is survived by his children, Dean (Renee) Schwartzmiller, Lori (Dean) Scott; grandchildren, Steele Schwartzmiller, Chase Schwartzmiller, Eric (Jess) Schwartzmiller, Nikki (Tyler) Zirbel, Kasey (Travis) Borkenhagen, Caley Scott, Alec Scott; eight great-grandchildren; his brother, Donald (Judy) Schwartzmiller. Lloyd is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.    Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bea; and his son, Dale.   Funeral services for Lloyd will take place on Thursday, March 16, at 12 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Mayville, with Rev. Traci Maass officiating.    Doris “Dorie” Mae Schneider, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2023, with family at her side.   She was born February 10, 1938, the oldest child of George and Irene Lechner, in Kekoskee. She was baptized into faith on February 27, 1938, and her strong and consistent faith throughout her life was an inspiration to many.   On December 7, 1968, she married Leon Schneider, and together they raised four children.   During her life, Dorie worked at Fox Valley Savings, for the hot lunch program at Winnebago Lutheran Academy and Action Printing, but her family and her church were her greatest priorities. For many years she taught little ones the love of their Savior in Sunday School at St. Peter’s, Kekoskee, and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac. Dorie was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Fond du Lac, and served in the Ladies Society for many years. She also enjoyed studying God’s Word with her friends in Bible Class at Faith Lutheran Church. Dorie loved keeping up with her grandchildren through photos they would send her and looked through them daily.   Dorie is survived by her four children, Cheryl (Daniel) Harding of New Richmond, Terry (Vicki) Schneider of Oshkosh, Sara (Kevin) Krueger of Kekoskee, and Steven (Sara) Schneider of Ripon; eleven grandchildren, Jessica (Ryan) Rondeau, Brenna (Wes) Joachim, Alyssa (Jared) McDonald, Lindsy and Matthew Schneider, Kavanaugh (Alyssa) Krueger, Hunter and Grant Schneider, Grace (Sam) Engle, and Reagan and Eli (Deborah Nieves) Kropp; and six great-grandchildren, Kayla and Jenna Rondeau, Sawyer and Kennedy Joachim, and Ezra and Amos Engle. She is further survived by her brother Lloyd (Lola) Lechner of Kekoskee, and nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Leon, and her parents.   Funeral services were held on Monday, March 13, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, with Rev. James Borgwardt officiating.    Thomas J. Vollmer, 80, of Mayville passed away peacefully on Friday, March 3, 2023, at ThedaCare in Neenah with his family by his side.   Tom was born the son of Gilbert and Elizabeth (Schnaderbeck) Vollmer on March 20, 1942, in Fond du Lac.   He was a 1960 graduate of Mayville High School.   Tom had retired from Gleason Reel in 1997 after 37 years of service to the company serving as past Vice President, engineer, and part owner.   He was united in marriage to Jane Thornton on January 16, 1998, at St. Mary’s in Mayville.   Tom loved life. The self acclaimed “Polka King” was a member of the Mayville Golf Club and the Polka Booster’s Dance Club for many years. He was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mayville. He loved spending time with his family.    David D. Sterr, 80, of Kekoskee, passed away on Friday, March 3, 2023, at SSM Health St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.   David was born the son of Alvin and Lydia (Heldt) Sterr on January 20, 1943.He was united in marriage to Sandra Lee Shrehmel on June 1, 1963, at Salem United Church of Christ in Wayne.   David had retired from Mayville Metal after 40 years of employment.   He was a member of St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church in Kekoskee. David was a past dedicated member of the Kekoskee Fire Department and First Responders.   In his spare time, he kept a good ear listening to the fire department/first responders scanner, polka, and enjoyed racing.   David is survived by his wife, Sandy of Mayville; his children, Michael (fiance’ Dorothy) Sterr and Deborah (Casey) Nowak; his grandchildren, Zachary Sterr, Ashley Sterr, Brady Laabs, Evelyn Nowak, Wayne Nowak, Miguel Nowak, and Penelope Nowak; further survived be nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.   He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Armond and Donald; sisters, Betty Nickel and Diana (Art) Pamprin; and his sister-in-law, Verona Sterr.    A funeral service for David will take place on Friday, March 10, at St. Peter Ev.    Carl C. Beauprey, 82, of Mayville passed away peace­fully on Wednes­day, March 1, 2023, at his home sur­rounded by his fam­ily.   Carl was born on Oc­to­ber 10, 1940, to Clif­ford and Agnes (Dob­bratz) Beauprey in Hart­ford.   He was a 1958 grad­u­ate of Mayville High School.   He was united in mar­riage to Mar­lene Pip­kin on June 9, 1961. Mar­lene pre­ceded Carl in death in 2007. He was later united in mar­riage to Ann Ferge on June 12, 2010.   Carl had started his ca­reer in auto re­pair but soon found his call­ing in the min­istry. Carl helped start sev­eral area churches and was in­stru­men­tal in start­ing Promise Land Church in Wa­ter­town, where he served as as­so­ci­ated pas­tor. Carl al­ways had a peace­ful and calm way. Al­ways let­ting oth­ers know that he was gen­uinely in­ter­ested in their lives and was able to show God’s love and grace. In his spare time, Carl en­joyed soft­ball, col­lect­ing bells and ea­gles, and loved to go on walks.   Carl is sur­vived by his wife, Ann, of Mayville; his chil­dren, James Beauprey of Fed­eral Way, WA, William ‘Bill’ (Kate) Beauprey of Ed­mond, OK, Jeff (Pa­tri­cia Moreno) Beauprey of Beaver Dam, and Mark (Kelli Kruse) Beauprey of Red­mond, WA; his five grand­chil­dren and six great-grand­chil­dren; his sib­lings, Sheri­dan (Don­ald) Ker­stern of Beaver Dam, Faye (Wal­ter) Blank of TX, and Jean Lin­den of Hori­con; fur­ther sur­vived by nieces, nephews, other rel­a­tives, and many friends.   He was pre­ceded in death by his par­ents; his first wife, Mar­lene; daugh­ter, Veron­ica; grand­daugh­ter, Bri­anna; and sib­lings, Betty Braun, Robert Beauprey, Sally Mae Beauprey, and Pas­tor John (Alice) Beauprey.   A fu­neral ser­vice for Carl took place on Mon­day, March 6, at 12 p.m. at Promised Land Church in Wa­ter­town with Pas­tor Jeff Steiner of­fi­ci­at­ing.    David D. Sperger of Janesville, for­merly of Mayville, passed away peace­fully, on Sun­day, Feb. 26, 2023, at Agrace Hos­pice­Care, Janesville.   David was born on July 24, 1931, to Roland and Marie (Scheberl) Sperger in LeRoy.   In De­cem­ber of 1951, he went into the United States Navy where he served in the Ko­rean War and was hon­or­ably dis­charged in No­vem­ber of 1955.   He mar­ried Mary Jean Raml on Sep­tem­ber 13, 1958, in She­boy­gan, and they had three chil­dren, Greg, Jean and Gary.   David en­joyed danc­ing to big band/swing music, buy­ing new cars, read­ing, bik­ing, and play­ing crib­bage.   David is sur­vived by his wife, Mary; his chil­dren, Greg (Lau­rie) Sperger, Jean (Thomas) Bink­ley, Gary (Cyn­thia) Sperger; his sib­lings, Mary Jo “Tootie” Huh­n­dorf, Geral­dine Ben­nett, Marlys Sperger, Dar­lene (Clint) Nel­son, Clarence Tab­batt and Mar­vin Tab­batt.    Eu­nice M. Koch (nee Butz), en­tered eter­nal life on Feb­ru­ary 27, 2023, under the watch­ful eyes and car­ing staff at Cross­roads Care Cen­ter in Mayville.   Eu­nice was born on April 22, 1931, in Mil­wau­kee to the late Gus­tave and Elsie (nee Risch) Butz.   She was united in mar­riage to Nor­man A. Koch on May 20, 1950, at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Hori­con. Nor­man passed away in 2003. Eu­nice en­joyed polka danc­ing with her hus­band, Nor­man, trav­el­ing the U.S and vis­it­ing her brother, Roy, in Texas. You’d say HoChunk, and she would say when. Eu­nice was al­ways ready for a trip to the casino and she most of the time came home happy.    Melissa Eliz­a­beth Lom­bardo-Lafal­gio, 47, passed away un­ex­pectedly on Feb­ru­ary 24, 2023, at her home.   Melissa was born on Au­gust 8, 1975, in Gar­nerville, NY, to William and Eliz­a­beth (nee Fusco) Lom­bardo. Melissa was a mother of two and step-mother to three. She loved being a mom. She was re-united with her high school sweet­heart, An­thony, and united in mar­riage on March 11, 2021.   Melissa owned the Paw Shop in Lomira and loved being around her dogs.
