Steven L. Siebenaler Steven Lee Siebenaler 67, of Beechwood passed away peacefully November 13, 2020 during a crisp fall evening surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Steve was born on January 14, 1953 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin to Janice (Liepert) and the late Mike Siebenaler. Steve attended Beechwood Elementary School and graduated from Kewaskum High School. He grew up on the family dairy farm outside of Beechwood where he learned the love of hard work as he would putz, tinker, and perfect his way to become a master of all trades. It was also here where his appreciation of animals and the outdoors began. He married the girl down the hill, Mari Lynn Miske on September 16, 1978 at Immanuel Lutheran, Town of Scott. Steve married into a family where he gained four brothers and four sisters. Togethe,r Steve and Mari Lynn raised two children to whom they instilled the value of faith, family, and integrity. Steve worked at Guertner Cheese, Borden Dairy, K&D Excavating, and retired in 2016 from the Sheboygan County Highway Department. Even after retirement, he could not give up operating heavy equipment and continued to help at K&D and AC Excavating. With a simple drive around Sheboygan County, Steve would proudly point out the products of his excavating expertise. Steve was also a retired honorary member of the Beechwood Fire Department and former member of the Beechwood Night Fliers Snowmobile Club. Steve had many different interests. What some would consider a burden, Steve found pleasurable and a joy: mowing lawn, yardwork, landscaping, and fixing things. He was meticulous in maintaining everything he worked for. He found serenity from atop a tree stand, where he could take in nature and form a theme for his next great hunting story. Steve guided many hunting adventures with his son, son-in-law, grandson, close friend and brother-in-law Mark, along with other relatives and friends. He also enjoyed his daily visits and drives with his life-long buddy and brother-in-law Dale. One of Steve’s greatest achievements in life was his five grandchildren. He lived for attending their never-ending sports and extracurricular activities. Steve found great excitement in giving them 4-wheeler rides, hunting, sharing appreciation for the outdoors, giving a good hug, and the art of pulling off a funny prank. Steve enjoyed his trip to Alaska with his extended family and many vacations with his grandkids. Please honor Steve’s memory by taking a slow walk outdoors, mentoring someone on a hunt, taking pride in a job well done, offering help to someone in need, cruising around in a muscle car, concocting a clever joke, and enjoying each moment with those you love. Steve was a kind-hearted son, husband, father, and grandpa who was always willing to help others. Steve was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, Batavia. Survivors include his wife: Mari Lynn; daughter, Stacy (Roy) Edwards; son, Travis (Angela) Siebenaler; known as Grandpa to Easton, Monroe, and Edlynn Edwards, and Etta and Ingrid Siebenaler. He is further survived by his mother, Janice (Al) Kempf, brothers- and sisters-in-law: Raylene (Steve) Justinger, Dale (Diane) Miske, Cheryl (Charles) Benson, Shelley Miske, Laurel (Kelvin) Kreif, Mark (Vickie) Miske, and Christine (Art) Birch. He is further survived by many nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends. Steve was preceded in death by his father: Mike; father-in-law: Kermit Miske; mother-in-law: Delores Miske; and brothers-in-law: Kermit Jr. Miske and Lonnie Miske. Services will take place Friday, November 20, at Zion United Methodist, Batavia at 5:30 p.m. for immediate family only. Services will also be broadcast LIVE via radio station from the Zion parking lot, N1667 WI-28, Adell, WI 53001 and on Facebook LIVE at 5:30 p.m. Drive-thru visitation immediately following service from 6-7:30 p.m. https://www.facebook.com/Zion-United-Methodist-Church-of-Batavia-120218924660799/ https://www.zionumcbatavia.org/ A memorial fund is being established in Steve’s name. The family would like to extend heartfelt appreciation to the entire medical and support staff at Kraemer Cancer Center; Dr. Burfeind, Dr. Longo, Kristi, and Trisha for their kindness and loving care. Phyllis M. Chatterton Phyllis M. Chatterton, 93, of Fond du Lac, died on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 after a short stay at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac, WI. She was born on August 4, 1927 to Bernard and Mabel (Humbright) Sielaff in Omro, WI and married Russell C. Chatterton on September 3, 1949 in Omro. Phyllis Chatterton was an independent woman, ahead of her time in many ways, and a role model and mentor for her family. She had a zest for living and embraced new adventures with gusto. Her revolutionary attitude surfaced while in high school. She was one of a few girls to take shop class, where she learned to weld and use a wide variety of tools; no cooking and sewing classes for her. Throughout her life, she had her own workbench and delighted in small repairs and refinishing furniture. During high school, she worked at the Omro Pharmacy’s soda fountain. It was there that she decided to become a pharmacist. She was the first in her family to go to college; and, in 1949, she graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison-School of Pharmacy, again one of only a handful of women graduates. She worked and helped put her husband, Russell, through college; he also became a pharmacist. Together they opened and successfully ran Chatterton Pharmacy in Fond du Lac, WI for many decades. To unwind and relax, Phyllis and Russell would pack up their three kids and head to their cabin in Wild Rose, WI. Phyllis loved this piece of heaven with its birds, woods and trout stream. She loved fishing and deer hunting. For over 50 years, until she was 92, Phyllis never missed an opening weekend of trout fishing and rarely did she get skunked. Phyllis had many interests. She enjoyed quilting, playing bridge, going to casinos, traveling and watching sports. The Wisconsin Badgers and Green Bay Packers were her favorite teams. Even in her 80s she still loved going with her son to a Badgers basketball game or to see the Brewers play. Phyllis had a lively sense of humor, enjoyed a good laugh and loved her family deeply; she gave them many great memories. Phyllis will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends. She is survived by her three children James (Kim) Chatterton of Fond du Lac, Pam (Richard) Groeschl of Campbellsport, and Sue (Bob) Budjac of Wisconsin Rapids; four grandchildren Aaron (Jennifer) Dunn of Wisconsin Rapids, Jessica Budjac of Portland, OR, Kayla Chatterton (fiancé Ben McFarland) of Madison, and Jennifer Chatterton of Fond du Lac; step-grandson Anthony (Stacey) Groeschl of Eldorado; brother Carlton (Linda) Sielaff of Fox Lake. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Aiden and Avery Dunn, and great step-grandchildren Ivan, Natalie, Brianna and Weston Groeschl. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Russell. In honor of Phyllis’ wishes private services for the immediate family will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the UW Foundation for the School of Pharmacy. Kurki Funeral Chapel & Crematory is serving the family, www.kurkifuneralchapel.com. 920-921-4420

Denese M. Myers-Byington

Denese M. Myers-Byington

Denese M. Myers-Byington, 85, of Tomahawk, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2020, at Riverview Health Services after contracting COVID-19. Denese was born on November 1, 1934, to Harvey and Dorothea (Nebel) Luedtke, the second of eight children. She grew up on the family dairy farm in Lomira. After graduation in 1953, Denese headed out to Kansas City to train as a flight attendant for TWA. Upon arriving in the “big city,” she didn’t even know how to use a pay phone to call home. Denese enjoyed flying for over twenty years and told many colorful stories about her favorite overseas flights. In 1976, Denese moved to the Northwoods to work for her sister, Donna, at her women’s clothing store in Tomahawk. There she met and married Jim Myers in 1977. Unfortunately, Jim passed away in 1986. Denese was lucky enough to find happiness again when she met Casey Byington, the man who could always make her laugh. They were married on October 26, 1990. They both loved to golf and Denese was especially proud of her hole-in-one. After retiring, Denese and Casey bought a winter getaway in Bradenton, FL, where they could start every morning with a round of golf or a walk on the beach. The two of them were a well-known couple in Bradenton and Tomahawk, stopping regularly at many local establishments to share laughter and good cheer. Sadly, Casey passed away first on July 22, 2018, after 28 years of marriage. Denese is survived by one sister, Donna (Ron) Sterr, of Tomahawk; one brother-in-law, Lloyd (Sally) Byington, and one sister-in-law, “Chub” (Janice) Byington, both of Wonewoc; five step-children, Nancy (Leslie) Myers of Hortonville, Tom (Sandy) Myers of Bradenton, FL, Terry (Tony) Barnes of Hillsboro, Kevin Byington of Greensboro, PA, and Suzanne (Chris) Beard of Rockton, IL; nine step-grandchildren, Tara Myers of Bradenton, FL, Ashley Pollock of Lakeland, FL, Tiffany (Lee) Barnes of Presque Isle, Ashley (Ken) Kishman of Monona, IA, Jared (Sarah) Barnes of Caledonia, MN, Corrine Byington of Wonewoc, Alexis Byington of Hudson, FL, Amanda Endicott of Waconda, IL, and Kayla Brewer of Louisville, KY; further survived by 16 step-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, as well as many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Dorothea; her siblings, Diane Luedtke, Darlene Gampka, Randy, Leon, Joel Luedtke, and an infant sister, Debra; her two husbands, Jim and Casey; a stepson, Kent Byington; and a step-grandson, Kyle Brewer. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private family graveside service will be held on at the Trinity United Methodist Salem Cemetery in Lomira. Memorials may be made in Denese’s honor to Riverview Health Services, Att: Tina Elvins, 428 N. 6th St, Tomahawk, WI 54487.
