Car­olyn Math­ews, 73, of Mayville, passed away peace­fully on October 18, 2023, at Cross­roads Care Cen­ter in Mayville.
Car­olyn was born the daugh­ter of Harold and Ber­nice (Toell­ner) Finke on No­vem­ber 30, 1949, in Hus­tis­ford. She grad­u­ated from Mayville High School in 1968. Car­olyn was united in mar­riage to Robert Math­ews at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville on June 18, 1977.
She was a mem­ber of St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville and for­mer mem­ber of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church where she taught Sun­day school.
Car­olyn was em­ployed for many years at TAB. She also was a bar­tender and did the trap­shoot­ing stats for Field & Stream sports­man’s club for 23 years. Car­olyn was a mem­ber of the Mayville Amer­i­can Le­gion Aux­il­iary.
Car­olyn was a peo­ple per­son who en­joyed being in the com­pany of oth­ers. Car­olyn trea­sured the time she spent with her fam­ily, es­pe­cially her grand­chil­dren. She loved to spoil them and watch them grow. Car­olyn learned to live life to the fullest after hav­ing polio at age 5. She had many hob­bies and some of which in­cluded: read­ing books, cro­chet­ing, and watch­ing Hall­mark Movies on the Hall­mark Chan­nel. Car­olyn could also be found watch­ing the Green Bay Pack­ers, Mil­wau­kee Brew­ers, Wis­con­sin Bad­gers, or NASCAR races.
Car­olyn will al­ways be re­mem­bered by her daugh­ter, Mindy (Tony) Bon­neau; grand­chil­dren, Kayla, Erin, and Austin. She is fur­ther sur­vived by other rel­a­tives and many dear friends.
Those loved ones with the Lord and Car­olyn in­clude her par­ents; her hus­band, Robert; brother, Ronald; and nephew, John.
Fu­neral ser­vices for Car­olyn were held on Sat­ur­day, Oct. 21, at 1 p.m. at the Koepsell Fu­neral Home in Mayville with Rev. James Mall­mann of­fi­ci­at­ing. A vis­i­ta­tion for Car­olyn was held at the fu­neral home on Sat­ur­day, Oct. 21, from 11 a.m. until the time of ser­vice at 1 p.m. In­ter­ment fol­lowed the ser­vice at Kekos­kee Ceme­tery.
